I love setting a beautiful table for pretty much any holiday—it’s one of those little joys that make the holiday feel special and festive! This year, since it’ll be our immediate family, I decided to keep it simple and cozy, and I’m excited to share my setup with you. Pretty much everything you see here is from Amazon, and arrived with next day shipping.
I started with a cream linen table runner. It’s a perfect neutral base that makes everything else pop. Then, I added navy placemats at each setting. The contrast between the navy and cream is so striking and gives the table a polished look.
Navy buffalo check cloth napkins are one of my favorite elements. They’re a classic pattern that will never go out of style. To sprinkle in some patriotic vibes, I placed small decorative flags around the table. They’re subtle but definitely add to the festive feel.
For drinks, I used mason jar drinking glasses. They’re so versatile and add a rustic charm that I love. And let’s not forget the florals—hydrangeas. They look so fresh and vibrant, arranged in a simple vase, like this one, or extra mason jars.
I also brought out a navy serving tray with scalloped edges from Home Goods (they carry lots of different serving trays at good price points—similar here)! It’s perfect for serving snacks or desserts and adds a stylish, functional element. Speaking of desserts, I used vintage dessert plates I found at my local thrift store for 50 cents each. They add such a unique and nostalgic touch, and a second pattern in the space. Be sure to check out your thrift store around the holiday’s for fun finds like these—they usually have a “holiday” section where they’ll pull out items that match the theme/colors for the holiday. That’s where I found these!
Setting this table was a joy, and I hope these ideas inspire you to create your own beautiful Memorial Day table. Happy weekend!
